Polio Epidemic Declared in Gaza
Gaza's Health Ministry has declared a polio epidemic affecting all of Gaza, reports Al Jazeera, a Middle East media outlet. The World Health Organization is sending more than one million polio vaccines to Gaza for administration in coming weeks, and Israel's military has said it would start offering the polio vaccine to soldiers in Gaza, Al Jazeera reported.
2024 -- Five new wild polio cases were reported the week ending August 10.
