BBQ Survey and Plans to be Discussed in Oct. 14 Meeting
After our annual July 4 Rotary BBQ in City Park, a survey questionnaire was sent to all club members. Responses were received from 34 members. Summarized, the survey showed strong support for continuing the BBQ, but not for continuing it exactly as it has been operated. Members generally believe the event benefits the community, strengthens Rotary’s public presence, and continues an important local tradition. At the same time, survey respondents were concerned that the BBQ depends too heavily on a relatively small group of members, conflicts with family and travel plans on July 4, and does not generate enough net revenue to justify unlimited volunteer effort.
President George Case will lead a discussion of the survey results and future plans at the club’s weekly meeting on October 14. An AI-produced analysis of the survey responses can be found in the members-only area on our club’s Website, on the Documents page.
