PR Meeting
January 14, 2020
 
Present:  Dottie, Ken, Lynn, Natalie
 
Ken brought the Kiwanis brochure to show us and had done some research on Rotary International website for brochure ideas. 
Discussion related to the need for the International Brochure as well as a local Lander brochure.  Both can be placed at the Chamber and used for recruitment of new members.
Ken will see if there is an International brochure we can purchase.
Natalie will work on developing a Lander Rotary brochure and bring back to the group for input
 
Include the service projects Rotary is involved in: 
Friday Community Meals,Food Bank,Salvation Army Bell Ringing,First Stop,Canyon Scholars,Dictionaries
Include Interact, Rotary Exchange, Rotary ScholarshipWhat Rotary Stands for Local Photos Community Foundation
 
 
Dottie reported on the service committee projects, she will continue to be the liaison between PR and Service Committee’s. 
Discussion about the purpose of the PR Committee and promoting the service in our club through social media.
Promotion of what Rotary is all about, how to get involved in service.
Discussion about bringing local businesses in and somehow promoting them and Lander business at the meetings. 
Suggestion of inviting them for lunch and during announcement let them say what they do, what their business is etc. 
Discussed perhaps having a month dedicated to introducing local businesses to Rotary and Rotary to local businesses at the meetings. 
Mike Jones and Mike Lilygren could be two members to discuss this idea with and get some feedback.
Enhancement of Friday Community Meal by adding some greeters to mingle with those eating through the night.

Ken working on getting Natalie access to FB
Lynn will do some promotion of the secret Cat in the Hat visit in March, work with Helen Higby.
Natalie will check with Mark Calhoun to see if he feels they need any more promotion of the weekly community meal
Suggest Bill Sniffin as a program as he did a great history of rotary for new members this spring and maybe the entire group could benefit from hearing it.
Natalie to work on Lander Rotary brochure
Natalie to provide a photo consent for the group to review and possible use for Rotary PR
Natalie will attend the Rotary Board Meeting Wednesday night at the Chamber to give a report and any feedback.
 
Next meeting will be February 25th at the Lander Bake Shop at 7 a.m.
