This is not an ad, but a plea for volunteers to help us complete the outside work for the service project that the club has undertaken at the Girls’ Group Home on N. 2nd Street.
Take a look at the attached work list and you’ll see that we’ve accomplished a lot this month, but we have a lot to do. If we can apply some elbow grease now, we can finish this before the snow flies! So far, we have worked 76 hours on the project!
We will have “work mornings” the next two Saturdays -- August 28 and September 4 (and, yes, I know that’s Labor Day weekend!) -- and I’m asking/pleading for volunteers on those Saturdays to help us get this important project completed. We’ll work from 8:30 to noon each day, no more, I promise!
If it is more convenient for you to work for a couple of hours on a weekday, we can make that work, too. Just contact me.

Scrape, sand and prime all painted/white surfaces (railings) on back deck, plus support posts (some work on ladders required) - ESTIMATED 8-10 HOURS

Prime front and side entry door trims - DONE!

Stain front entry porch - DONE!
Stain side entry porch - ESTIMATED 4-6 HOURS
Replace missing spindles on side entry porch - ESTIMATED 1-2 HOURS
Remove small (2-3 in. diameter) tree in front yard - DONE!
Clean up all outside trash and haul to the landfill (large grill on deck, old furniture, etc.) - DONE!
Weed-eating around the foundation (entire house) and on the lawn perimeter - DONE!
Remove sliding screen door and take to shop for screen replacement - DONE!
Clean out window wells and wash windows (outside) - ESTIMATED 1 HOUR
Prime and then paint trim on window well windows - ESTIMATED 1-2 HOURS
